Patrick was brought up in Faifley and went to St Columba’s High School, Clydebank, incidentally the same one as Kevin Bridges (they share the same hard-hitting humour). Patrick was an English teacher for thirty-four years and Head of English at Morrison’s Academy in Perthshire for sixteen years. He took early retirement a few years ago and has been travelling the world house and pet-sitting, writing as he goes along. He has had educational resources published and he also worked with Carol McGregor (Ewan McGregor’s mother), writing audio description scripts for the films Moulin Rouge; East is East; Gangster No 1; Hilary and Jackie; Jeepers Creepers 2; Enemy at the Gates; Dancer in the Dark; The Match. He also adapted and wrote a variety of plays which were performed in the schools in which he taught: an updating of A Christmas Carol, an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s short stories Telling Wilde Tales and an original piece called Jerry Springer Meets Macbeth. Joining the Dots is Patrick's first published novel. He is currently writing a follow-up and is also working on a psychological thriller.
